MARGARET MARY LOGAN
Margaret Mary Logan 93, died Saturday, December 23, 2006 at her residence. A lifelong resident of Savannah, the daughter of William Gordon and Norma O’Connor Logan.
She was educated at Sacred Heart School and graduated from Savannah High School in 1931. An honor graduate of the 1935 class of the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, Baltimore she received a baccalaureate degree with major in education and a minor in History. She taught in the Savannah Chatham County School System for 38 years starting her career at Chatham and ending it at Wilder Junior High School. She is fondly remembered by former students for her dedication to teaching and instilling in them the drive for success. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the professional honorary society of women educators. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church and a generous benefactor to numerous charities.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Norma O’Connor Logan Cramer and Josephine Logan Michel.
She is survived by her niece Josephine Michel Thomas and her husband Jimmy of Macon, GA, her nephews, Col. Walter E. Cramer III ret. and his wife Mimi of Dallas, TX, Lt. Col. Leon John Michel III, ret. and his wife Sharon of Fairfax Station, VA. Known to family and friends as Marge, Margie, Aunt Margaret, Mamie and Marnie she will be missed greatly by all her family and friends. She will be particularly missed by her 5 great nieces and nephews and 5 great great nieces and nephews who will always remember her as their Margie.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2006 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 29, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Scared Heart Catholic Church with burial in the Catholic Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be William Gordon Thomas, Christopher Cramer, Michael Cramer, Clarkson Logan, Lawton Logan, Patrick Logan, Matthew Logan and Robert Persse.
